First things first the real newbie question, I'm presuming that we approve the picture then issue a warning if needed?

Actually it would be nice if some of the more experienced gallery mods could post some sort of a guide of how to go about warning/infractions in the gallery, because when I think about it, I know the rules and why they should be, but not 100% sure about how to go about doing it ^_^;;

Also do we have an issue with the quality of comments in the gallery?
things like:

"omg!!!!!!!!!!!!11111 I love it!!!!!!!!!!1"

or a simple 'nice artwork'

I mean surely if they love it that much they could just rate it?

There may have been just a firm confidence in each others abilities to handle most judgements rather than have specific guidelines to follow.,its pretty basic.
The only real place we've gotten serious about it our scans area, all else i would presume to be common sense.

As for comments, i would like to see some enforcement for better quality comments, i didnt realize we had a "omg its good" problem, but if thats the case, its just as easily classified as 'spam', you'd give out proper infractions/warning as you see fit. we dont judge comments any differently than we would the forum

As it stands: I allow all comments... unless they're designed to flame the user.

So few people comment at all that it's a fool's errand to try and regulate their quality.

It would be different if we were being flooded with activity... but in cases like this, it's better to just let people go nuts and hope people are inspired by having comments AT ALL to post more material.

As for a gallery guide/more concise rules... that would require the gallery mod staff sitting down with each other then approval from an admin. Currently we more or less do our own thing (while tending to concentrate on the areas we know most about).

For the comments, it's no biggy, I just wanted to check that I wasn't ignoring something that I should be warning members about. Other than that..it's just a pet hate of mine XD

As for guidelines, I was actually referring more to how to actually do it, like what button do I press lol. I know what we want/what we don't want - I'm just not sure how to go about doing it. I can see where to report images, but how to I actually warn members for images in the gallery?
