Out of the character in the avatar except for Aang (the avatar) who do you guys think is the strogest bender?
I think the strogest has to be Iroh Prince Zuko's uncle. He is a master fire bender but he also knows how to use lightning and how to re-routi it.
After all he is call the Dragon of the West:worship:

LOL!! That is to funny pyro. I would say katra tho she is still learning but for a girl who wants to learn how to bend water. She also doesn't want to heal if it is nessacary but wants to fight with the men and not stay at home with the women.
Actually Katara is the strongest bender believe it or not and it doesn't have anything to do with gender in the matter. Someone who has such advanced control in the concepts and fields of the three states of matter all bundled into the field of water bending with that much talent is virtually unstoppable.

I'd have to go with Fire Lord Ozai. I mean, he is the Fire Lord after all. He's feared by so many, and whatnot. I'd say since he's built up to be one of the Primary antagonists he has to be extremely strong and all, right? Like some sort of a final boss perhaps.
^The guy kills his own dad. Succeeds his brother who was crippled in defeat and shame b/c his son died, a real badass I agree. He basically is some what of a cheap ass bastard XD. Not to mention using Souzen's comet (if it ever pops up in the anime) to crush the remaining nations? My god the brutal bastard.
I would like to see him fight Katara (Without Souzen's Comet) and we could measure raw nature bending of polar opposites xD.
even though i agree that water is the most versatile element and best to fight with i think toph is a better fighter. she has the fighting spirit in her before she met aing unlike katara and now she has the power over metal she is really strong, plus she rocks at arguments and totally knows how to deal with things by herself even though shes' blind.
Oh geez. Katara? Don't make me laugh. She's no fighter. She's as useful as Sakura from Naruto. Which means she's worthless. Toph is pretty strong, I mean she held that sand library up and that must way tons.
Izula is a kick ass girl. I'm not sure if I can say that but I don't care. The fire lord has to be stronger than her if you think about it.
Then there's Uncle, who is strong as hell but doesn't show it. It's tough but I choose the earth kingdom bender Aang knew when he was younger. Crazy people are always the strongest!
