    Advice on Tokyo Vice

The book Tokyo Vice by Jake Adelstein is a worthy waste of 300 plus pages of your life. While Adelstein made his bones exposing the FBI's unsavory deals with international criminals it surprisingly talks very little about that. This is more so a guide on how tobecome and succeed as a journalist in Japan. You can marvel at how little it takes about actual vice squad stuff.

Here's a nice interview for people who want to know more about him, his book or the Yakuza.
