New ideas books
Looking to expand! Tired of old ideas, cleaning house. Willing to trade suggestions of books / old ideas for a great book suggestion to open up my dusty mind. Already read Catcher in the Rye, Catch 22, Bradbury, Vonnegut. Will look outside of distopian future novels! Post here OBO.

Re: New ideas books
Vonnegut is amazing! He's my favorite author!
Have you read any Ayn Rand? Her stuff is lengthy, but amazing nonetheless. Orwell (of course) is a good one. I also highly recommend Cormac McCarthy, he wrote No Country for Old Men. His style is different from the others, but still pretty stellar.
I've actually been looking for recommendations myself haha.

Re: New ideas books
Great thanks then.
What about Huxley, Brave New World, or Farenheit 451? Quite happy to find another hipster who still says stellar.

Re: New ideas books
Ellen Hopkin's stuff is pretty good. Crank, Impulse, Burned,Glass and Identical brought up a lot of real life situations i related to. And her psuedo verse format is intriguing.

Re: New ideas books
Farenheit 451 is a pretty good book! Ray Bradbury (is that his last name?) has some pretty good stuff! Martian Chronicles (also by him) is messed up, according to my Darling, but a friggin good book!
also try City of Thieves, by David Benioff, it tells the story of the author's Grandad who had to find eggs for a colonel's daughter's wedding cake... in the middle of winter... in the middle of Russia... in 1942...
:2thumbs: oh yeah, it's good!
oh! also Frank McCourt has a style and honesty than you will find in a good 99% of other books.
