well, download the Beta Client and give it a whurl. its a good game, not to mention pre-order people get early access a few days after the open beta ends on the 26th

Well... I broke down, and ordered the Collector's Edition from Amazon (which has the 'Red Capacitor' game bonus, and the Borg Bridge Officer added bonus!!!) Now I'm tempted to pick up the Walmart version, but how useful would an additional 500 skill points be at the start of the game???
It may be awhile before I install it. My current computer is above the system minimum requirements, but its no gaming machine. I've been itching to build myself a new system (with lower power usage) using the fastest of the new Clarkdale chip and a ATI 5770 graphics card...

I do have the Beta Client... (my bit-torrent was chewing on that all morning...), its just a matter of when Amazon will email the Beta Access code... (And with it, the life-time subscription with the Borg customizable commander perk looks awfully tempting. It looks much better then that joined trill perk) The Head Start wouldn't be that useful for me, as the pre-order character perks won't be valid until the official opening. (Which means recreating the character for the perks and starting over...)
I wonder if any other AO members will be participating???
I don't know, But if there are, Me and you len, How would you like to be a Fleet Commander with me?
Thats the norm for cryptic though. They are consently adding new content to their games. It was the same with Champions online.
Blizzard they are not, they don't go several months between patches.

Now the other reason I need to upgrade to a game worthy system. Cryptic recommends upgrading to the latest video drivers. The latest Vista video drivers for the ATI 2400 in my Gateway system require Vista Service Pack 1 to be installed first. And for some unknown reason, (I suspect incompatible Gateway drivers...) Vista Service Pack 1 refuses to install on my system... So I may still have to wait for my next computer build before installing the game... (And looking at 120GB SSD primary storage for it. Still expensive, but approaching affordable targets...)
