Disney Rant

I was searching around Youtube for some songs from my favorite Disney movies, when i came across many different videos with the sole purpose of showing how racist Disney is.

Well, here's my reasoning behind it. The first film i will mention is Dumbo. The crows in particular. Who can forget them? They are so stereotypically black it would make any "blacker than" black man laugh at how ridiculous it is. Many people have noticed this, and called out the movie because of the racist characterization.

What we all need to remember is most of the famous Disney movies were made in the 1930s and 1940s. Jim Crow was still very much a reality back then, as well as the white man looking down on the colored. Simply put, the racism we see today was the norm back then.

Another thing. People have been looking carefully at the movies and seeing things most people do not. And many of these things are sexual. There is one big thing that people are not getting. Disney is a corporation, full of heartless, curmudgeonish scrooges who are interested in one thing: MONEY. Sex sells, and it gives us something to look for in the movies.

ok, a bit of a short rant, but it got my point across.

Take a look at Kimba the White Lion if you really want to hate Disney.

you misunderstand. i don;t hate disney, i just hate it when people decide to rant on the blatant racism or the subtle sexual content without fully thinking about it all.

The fact is disney did put a lot of racist things in their movies. Alot of sexual things as well. If you ever come accross an old copy of the Little Mermaid, take a good hard look at the center spire of the Castle in the background. Then find a bucket to vomit in.

even though disney put racist facts in its movies, that got in the past... today disney is a very open entity... or so I think... there are new series and movies that are adapting to the modern days...
I think mainly waht happens is the TV industry will always show what people want to see and will put things that people want to hear. Disney, as every other company, is adapting to the times as they come.
