![]() ![]() | My Twilight Review Well ladies and gentlemen, I've been making predictions for the past month now on every Twilight based thread i could find. My expectation was that the movie would not live up the the book. And my expectations were met, and even went a tad beyond. Then again, who didn't see this coming when it was announced that Stephenie Meyer wouldn't have any creative control. First off, the acting. It was mixed. Certain actors had either no emotion at all, or overacted to the point where it became sad. Other characters, however, like Mike's actor, perfectly got into character and portrayed who they were supposed to be flawlessly. The writing could have been better, as many of the books classic one liners were turned into cheesy attempts at humor, which every fangirl busted a gut at. I, however, felt that the dialouge in the book should have stayed the way it was. Many of the scene transitions were way too dramatically quick. For instance the movie can skip from Bella and Edward in the school hallway, and immediately skip to Bella sleeping. This gave me a headache. The music wasn't bad, but they really overplayed Edward's Lullaby a bit too much, as it was the music for nearly every part. For the more actiony sequences, the music sounded like something you would hear in a pornographic film, and the strained faces of the two fighting vampires didn't help the image either. However, one scene caught my attention and made me jump to the edge of my seat. I call it "Vampire Baseball." The baseball scene with Bella and the Cullen family was very well done and the intense music finally found a place where it was appropriate to be played. Overall if you have read the book, then you will certainly not like the movie. If you haven't read the book, then this is a nice little romance movie about a girl and her undead lover. Can you say "necrophelia?" Oh, and i just want to add this in. The little romance lines were so cheesy, i was waiting to hear "You complete me." |

![]() ![]() | Re: My Twilight Review I can't say much about Twilight, I never had the urge to read the book and as such wasn't interested in the movie. But if vampire dramas are your thing, I'd recommend Let the Right One In, a Swedish film about a tormented 12 year old boy and the bond he forms with the "12" year old vampire girl who moves into the apartment next door. It's slow paced, subtitled, and even the violence is somewhat muted, but it's got an odd sort of sweetness to it. |

![]() ![]() | Re: My Twilight Review It's like a catchy song. The song sucks very badly, but you can;t help but love it because it has the ability to get into your head. It wasn;t even my choice to read. I was looking for an Anne Rice novel for an outside reading book in 12th grade english. The teacher handed me twilight and told me to read that if i liked vampire stories. Now, not wanting to disobey my teacher, i ended up reading this. Thanks a lot, Mrs. Lewis. You've created another mindless zombie. And yes, i know they aren't well written Sazuka. It's what keeps me amused when i do read them, as i like seeing how corny it can get. |
