Wow gwenibe, if you get Wii fit you should tell me what you think......I've been really wanting that myself.
I have an account @ AV..... Why am I not using it? Then I wouldn't have to re-hash... what you've already hashed. (mmmm hash) You did get quite a response.
@ Sosh...
That Rabbids looks awesome! But whoever that dude is making characters... he must have a real nipple fetish. Kinda spooky.
Hmmm MySims eh? ... Homeboy doin' the game review doesn't sound all too thrilled about the game storyline. BUT. The characters looked fun. And I have never seen an option to alter voice before. O.o
And no death, or having to fill all types of motives? I suppose that's a plus? although... Sims without motives to fill might be like going back to just straight Cap'N crunch after you've tasted the berries.
Get No more heroes, Super smash brothers brawl, Zelda: Twilight princess, Metroid Trilogy, and the up coming No more heroes 2.
These games are seriously the best, most smooth games on wii.
Dump the kiddy games, you need true satisfication.
I can avoid them, but not dump them. My children need something to play with too.Quote:
Dump the kiddy games, you need true satisfication.
Dump the kiddy games? If you do that, you drop 80% of the Wii's great titles.
If you're into just "mature" games, the 360 and PS3 offer 300% more "mature" games.
Just because a game looks kiddy doesn't mean it isn't satisfactory or good. Heck, all early games that are now classics started out looking kiddy.
...design and actual gameplay are 2 different things.
Anywho!
Yeah, MySims isn't exactly about the story. Its story is basic to the core.
MySims Kingdom is much more about story and dialogue, but even then it's nothing serious or compelling. Though it does have more silly humor.
MySims' main focus is the building of furniture. MySims Kingdom's main focus is the building of buildings, n basic problem solving.
But yeah, there isn't much challenge to the games... it's a game where you just pick up and play whenever with no pressure. Which can be a good thing.
There ARE goals in the MySims games, however. For MySims, it's to get the town back to the 5 star rating.
Which can be aquired by moving in more people and satisfying their wants and needs. ...which means building more furniture. Satisfying them to their max will unlock their costumes, so you can creepily dress alike.
In MySims Kingdom, it's just about the same... Stars n such. However, you go into differently themed islands (spooky goth island, mad scientist island, etc). Each island has their own problems to solve.
The games are pretty cheap now if you're willing to lay down a few bucks to try one of them out.
...and yeah, I gave gwenibe a huge list because she just asked for "must gets". ...which is a pretty big list for the Wii if you have open tastes in gaming.
I have Wii Fit myself. It's pretty damn good. But much like any other exercise regiment: you still have to WILL yourself to exercise. The game's charm definitely encourages you to work out, but it doesn't make it any easier.....especially in the more advanced yoga positions and muscle training....
I read somewhere that the Wii is going to start putting out more mature games, which is good because I HATE kiddy games and I haven't touched my Wii in like a year.
And yet you played Animal Crossing. :p
Which technically is considered a kiddy game, design-wise.
Then again, so are Mario games, but people tend to forget about that.
...anywho: the Wii's not getting more mature titles all-around (not counting the games already coming out in the next months), 3rd party companies are just finally admitting that they haven't really tried putting in mature games and effort and will now TRY to make some more "mature" games with effort.
...though they still are concerned in doing so considering The Conduit's and Dead Space: Extractions sales.
The 3 big companies admitting this would be SEGA, CAPCOM, and EA.
...though, don't expect too much from EA. They'll most likely just keep following their same tactics.
But if you're saying you heard a lot of great "mature" game titles are coming out: you'd be correct.
Monster Hunter: Tri, Tatsunoko VS Capcom, Red Steel 2, and No More Heroes 2 are the main games people are looking forward to that are coming out fairly soon.
...though FFCC:Crystal Bearers and Silent Hill:Shattered Memories are also 2 quality "mature" titles that came out already. Both are excellent games.
