Wii's userbase is like an inverse bell curve. It appeals strongest to those outside the core late-teen young adult demographic, while PS3 and 360 are on the inside of that curve looking out
It's understandable for the PS3 to skew a bit older, too. Aside from the price, Sony has clearly targeted the device as to be part of the financially independent adult's media center.
360 is the Sega Genesis of the day. It's where the cool kids play, or at least that's how the marketing makes it appear, but the marketing does lead, somewhat, to the resulting demographics."
