AO should have a AOTW (AMV of the week) and have it displayed on the main page for others to watch. I think its a good idea what do you guys think

Barring that we have trouble with any copyrighted materials, I think it would be a good idea. Though I wouldn't want to see a contest for every week. Personally I believe it would be better if it was monthly. There is a reason why I said that. One of my pet peeves when it comes to AMV is the lack of effort that some people put in it. I have seen the following:

- AMV's that have subtitle in them.
- People just slapping their favorite rock song on an anime clip that is pretty irrelevant to what's on the screen.
- People using one episode to do their AMV.

I think that if we were to have it weekly, we will be experiencing a lot of those poor quality ones; not to mention the possibility of AMVs that may not the member's actual work.

True You are right a AMV of the months sounds great to me also and yes i also hate when people jsut slap AMV's togther it gets dumb and i wonder why they bothred

i think this is a good idea for the monthly
idea because t will give those that really want
enter to take there time and actully put there time
into it not jsut rush to put something together.

myself my AMV arnt as good as they could be because
i have a windows movie maker but it would take sevral
hours if not longer to get something that would be half way
decent. anyway this idea would be good of people took it
seriously and not just put something together just to prove they
can make one.

Not exaclty true i use Movie maker and my AMV's are past decent so dont let that stop you

i agree my ff7 and naruto AMV's o have posted here were pretty
good but sometimes they are off a bit with the timeing or images
skip

O i can understand that and it could make you miss sync's and so forth but. Could DB speak on this matter so i can see if he will take it into consederation

Most of the AO members don't have the capabilities to make a good (let alone great) AMV.

It would be monthly though, so maybe it would be a good idea just to see if it works out with one contest first before giving up on it. You never know, you might be surprised...
