This apparently was discussed in AO's earlier days under old management(before when i joined)

Yes Sasurai is right. The idea may sound good but the reality is not, I have been aboard for longer than most members and I can assure you Chatrooms dont work on this type of communities. To have a decent chatroom you need several members active at one single time, and face reality we are lucky to pass the average 30-40 users at teh same time on the forums and this forums are a lot more attractive than any chatroom.
So what are your chances of getting more than 5 people constantly, none.
While a chat room for this community might not work, it doesn't mean that an anime themed chat room won't work on its own.
Me and my friend (Who has written a fairly solid Perl script for a chat room similar to Outpost10F (Linked in my Sig)) have been batting around this idea for ages, and just needed the webspace to do our work in.
