i've been in many anime forums before and i know what to do in there...
but, when i online in AO.. i fell kinda a little boring about the site...
there are less improvement...it's like a ghost town here...
less activities were held...so,i just wondering, what is it that makes other anime forums good that AO doesn't have....can we add more activities and contest to make it more lively and lighten...or we can just promote our forums to everyone to join...
i doing this just wanna help our forum be the best and fun...![]()

We'll this forum can only be as good as we, as a community are willing to make it. So its nice that you come from a stance that is beyond just criticism, and one that shows an interest in helping and contributing. That's cool of you.
I know that recent site interferences probably haven't helped anything. Having to fix damage that's been done, probably deters staff from being able to give their all to site improvement.
I also think that where contests are concerned, it is also important to remember that the success of a contests depends largely on participation. Member participation is something staff here can only have so much control over.
I personally think any way that you can get the word out about AO is great idea. But beyond that... since we already have you here.... Participate and contribute in every way you can. As long as you have the time, energy, and approval to do so. And if you, and all our other members do that... the site will improve. That's my theory anyway.

This forum already is fun. This is the first anime message board site I have joined and stuck to, because either people on other sites were dicks or, well that's really the only reason. This is a pretty fun community as it is, it might be a little slow but what the Hell. New members are joining everyday and more and more members means more traffic and more posting. Maybe a spam section would be cool to have......
I think the other reason you were looking for Artistic was boards being too Spammy. Look at the Gaia Online forum, I was way too much for me even back when Gaia was first brought out and there was 10,000 members online, and now, well, I'm surprised my friends can take it.

Recent hacks certainly pose a problem and member contribution may be down. But let's remember the members themselves. That is where it begins. AO is not anything more than a networking site for anime fans, and if people want something more or fancy they can seek it somewhere else and perhaps pay for it. One thing I do take issue with is the fact that you can not advertise or mention other cool sites so AO does sort of make people choose whereas other boards I have been on don't. It is cooler on the sites that let you talk about that stuff.
I think this is best example. Gaia's anime forums are outrageously chaotic.
Remember, peace is boring. AO eliminates repeated topics, dead threads, trolls and general spammers. They also make you have a decent discussion. If I find the forums like ghost town, I normally leave for a bit, then I come back a week later to find many interesting topics.
If you're bored and want variety, create it. AO is fun to me, but it's also a peaceful place, which can be boring to some.
Spam sections don't usually turn out too good. Maybe we could recognize the active members by doing some kind of AO awards. Like for example do a vote for Who is the most admired or something. I remember EA use to do them at least. Or starting something that is more interactive. Maybe we can have a vote each month for like member of the month. Just throwing out some ideas.

We've had a Spam section in the past, and when we did, the General Forums practically died. You think its bad now, you try sifting through 50-80 posts at the end of the day, and only 3 of them are even worth reading.
Least now 2/3rds of whats posted are quality posts.
Quantity does not equal quality.
