Custom Avators?

I'm sorry i just dont understand. I just signed up today so i am alittle confused... sorry

None for new members because they want you to post more and so that they don't have to bleed money to death to keep this site going.

That's not really it. Although you are correct about getting members to post more, I think the main reason for it is to have something for junior members to look forward to. If you give everyone everything right away they won't post as much. For example alot of people just come for the gallery and nothing else. But these are just my thoughts. I don't know what Admin is really doing.

You're pretty much right on target.
The owner wants to reward good members with new features, one of them being the custom avatars.
