Favorite threads

This suggestion is going against the status quo, and that is to limit Favorite threads to the Members Group ONLY. That means we are flipping the rule around from what it is now. Instead of limiting that "privilege" to Com Members and above, it should be made available only to members. Of course these threads are still bound by the daily thread limit rule and whether a same thread topic exist.

That way I feel it can help us with the retention of new members and ease them into the more "complex" stuff. I feel it is unnerving and annoying for any new member of any age to go into a forum and incur warnings and infractions. Comm members and above should already be use to the atmosphere and not need these type of threads.

Only problem is, they'll still incur warnings/infractions. We don't really even give out that many for favorites threads; there are a lot more given for duplicate threads/low quality posts and this in particular would increase if newbies were constantly making favorites threads. We'd be getting a lot of "I like so-and-so because he's cool", more so than we already do.

But if we do change the rule, it should be changed for everyone. Anyone can make favorites thread providing they still fall within the rules.

Hmmm, yeah you got a point there. But then again, those favorite threads are a bit on the lower end of quality in the first place, so can't really expect anyone to write too much. What about having a few more of the section related fav threads?? Jaderabbit's top 3 manga, and Hassun's What are you listening to now are quite successful.
