OK you would like to know how to become a community member. Well this is how it works.
    1. The first way is to reach the 100 post level.
    2. Is to donate money to AO for site updates and up keep. PM Dragon Ball for details.
    3. If you posted anything in the Anime, General or Gaming Wallpaper section you can PM me with your Gallery link and I will add you in.
Other than that, reach 100 posts without spamming, flaming or breaking the rules.

    << EDIT: Dragon Ball >>

Actually, to become a Community member you only need 100 quality posts. To become an Elite member, you need 500 posts.
    See User Promotions.
Last edited by Dragon Ball; Jan 14, 2007 at 12:28 AM. Reason: Changed 500 to 100 post level for community member. 500 is actually for Elite members.

What about the old way where a member had to contribute positively to the forum (IE posting quality posts that add to the subject of the thread that they are posting in)?

It takes along time to get to 500 posts, and thats how I got my community membership in the old AO

That was the old way of which, every month, Gig would see who is a "Good member" and allow them community status.

The "karma" system, if I remember, is if you have a good post, it increases and a bad (spam) post it decreases.

you go offline 4 a few weeks and look what happens!

500 posts is gonna = a lot of spamming

if this now a concern why amend rules as per users reg. date?

please dont force infrequent users to use the NEKIO.COM site (that site give me the creeps, to much kiddie stuff [shudders!]

    PLEA: please rethink new rules

many thanx & a reply would be appreciated.

Spaming is delt with. We remove spam, which goes a long with the post count. If the member continues to spam, then that person is banned. We've done this before, so yes there will be some increase in spam but it will be controled.
