The only time we look at the IP logs is if something peeks our interest, like similar posting style, use of grammar (or lack there of, which seems to be the norm on the board), ect ect.

Its ok for two people who use the same computer to register (At home, school, public net cafe), most of the time, the people's posting styles are different enough for us not to notice.

No wonder you can catch people with a double account and with only a few clicks. It is scary, like trunks said.

What'll really blow your mind is what information we can get from IP addresses...

Say, hows the weather in Syndey?

Sock puppet accounts with different IP addresses via proxies work most often times as long as you don't get busted for doing the same typing pattern as your master account. Also, there are many ways you can troll websites via fake IP addresses all you need is some knowledge on how the internets work and some good anonimizers^^

Then you will fail. There are ways around those. Most of the staff have years of experience in computer sciences, I myself have a background in webdesign and Internet Technical support.

Everything made by man is flawed and can be circumvented.

Sydney weather is fine. How is Canada? And your just 3 years older than me.

What kind of infomation can you really get. its just the number of the computer, where it at and what kind of net that person is using, unless your one of those hackers. Is that program that you use even legal to use on us.

I think this question was more than answered. So closing, since it's getting into pointless banter about the IP trace function.
