I think that guests should be able to write a quick limited reply on a thread. It dont need to be a big thread/forum you could add it to but it would be a nice thing to do for the people that dont have the time to sign up. You could create a mini forum for them! Thanks...
we could do that, but that would defeat the purpose of having a forum that requires registration. If they can post there with out registering, then why register for the rest of the site.
People are lazy and won't do what they don't have to do.
we wouldnt want masses of smalll uninteresting posts and blurbs that'll clog and make the board look bad.
plus, we DO want to be a big thread forum....
Dont think that would work. we already allowing the guest to explore some areas of this site but if we give some more freedom to guest they will keep on doing it and it would be unfait to those who already joined the site as members
At first when i read the thread i thought Hell, thats a great idea. But coming to think of it if you didn't have to sign up, it would get spammed with pornography, pointless jibberish and even insults to other members on AO, there would be no punishiment for this so someone could just come along and spoil it for those eager to stay on AO. This would also meen more hassle for MODS and ADMINS that keep this place togther, and yeah why can't you just sign up anyway, if all you want to do is post it will only take 2 minutes to sign up! But sorry i don't think this is a great idea sorry.
Why should people who cant take a few minutes to become a member of this community, be given a forum? Just dont add up.
Yeah, completely agree... But every time i sign in i see about what 1-20 members and about 250 guests, it's like just sign up instead of having a look or maybe the figures on the front page are wrong, but if not the most guests i have ever seen is 354 i think, if all them signed up AO would shoot up, maybe more so with spam but it's a risk to take, i think if anything we should try and pursade guest to join more so than just letting them passby. However i like AO perfectly how it is so far. :2thumbs:Quote:
