Yeah I was just wondering why the personal image uploader is crapping out?
Could be the fact that each group had different upload permissions, Based on this you can only upload certin file types, and sizes
The Issue with the gallery, and in fact, every part of the site that allows image uploads, is broken at the moment. This is due to the fact that AO was victim to a large scale Denial of Service hack that also effected sites like Twitter and The White House.
