    Hee~ Gee~ Grr~ Grr~

have been thinking, and never really read a sad book. just ones that were emotionally touching!

i stay away from sad books... don't want all that weight on my heart, know what i mean?

as for preferred kind of books... um, it's looking like classic American literature, historical, and memoirs are my faves to read~

Classics: like 'em cuz all the smarty "English majors", as Darling calls them, really seem to like 'em. have given a few a shot, but i don't like most (Invisible Man, Jane Eyre, The Great Gatsby). Not becuz they're bad books, but the themes and what they were trying to say just didn't appeal to me... but there are some authors i CAN'T STAND... John Steinbeck (Grapes of Wrath, the Pearl, Of Mice and Men) and Ernest Hemingway (The Old Man and The Sea)...

why don'ts i likez 'em? cuz they NEVER wanted to see the good side of life, and Abu cannot stand those kind of people~

but there's still a lot more to read~

Historical: Soshi would say it's cuz i'm a nerd, and would heartily agree! as a kid, i loved the American Girl series and the Dear America collection, which were all about girls living during periods of history and all the adventures they had... SHUT UP

Memoirs: why? cuz that sh!t is real! the best work comes from honest loves and losses, and what could be more real than real life? also find many of the crotchety old dudes wandering around have done awesome stuff like travel around the world and save people and fall in love and kill two Germans in WWII with a knife they hid in their boot after beating them in a game of chess... yeah, pretty friggin awesome!

    so yeah!

oh, manga = shonen cuz lately shojo = sh!t, and don't read American comics much cuz don't know where to start/Justice League Unlimited on Cartoon Network is FRIGGIN AWESOME

    Lookit'ya and yer books!
Lookit'ya, pretendin' to be all smawt.
    Awwww, lookit'da widduh babeh~!

    I'm just kidzings darling.

Haffta' agree with ya', most shoujos found nowadays are rather crappy. It's hard to find a good one that isn't trying too hard - or just plain odd.

...and don't worry hun, I just make fun of ya' cuz it's fun.
I would say it's because I'm jealous, but when I think about it: I still don't care to read most of those books.
I'll stick to the REAL nerd books that you love to make fun of.

And don't worry, I'll read the American comics for ya'.
You stick to your "only booky people allowed" and "lols I <3 manga" sections.
I'll stick to my "there's no way I look cool reading here" and "I'm supposedly intellectual but really I lack a social life" sections.

    Mmm... Books!

I wish I had more time to read a good book or ten.
I think the last good book I read that wasn't manga was either 'The DaVinci Code', or 'I am America--and so can You!'. Stephen Colbert is f*ckin' hilarious, BTW!!

Though, I'll admit that manga and video games have kinda been a distraction, LOL.

If you liked DaVinci, then go for Angels and Demons. The only long length book i ever finish and not because of school.

'Cause you give me something / That makes me scared, alright / This could be nothing / But I'm willing to give it a try / Please give me something
'Cause someday I might call you from my heart

...and then comes the odd kid who liked the simple books...
Books like Toto-chan and The Phantom Tollbooth...
Everyone here's talkin' 'bout Da Vinci Code and other big books that asks questions that aren't really important.

It's the simple books that are my favorites. Has a lot more meaning to 'em, in my opinion.
