Eddy the Echidna

My neighbours had a visit last week from an echidna! Noticed it first because my dog was stalking it through the fence (she's a border collie - wants to round up anything that moves >____>)

So after a quick distraction ("oh! look dog - a bone!") I was able to get closer to the fence and observe it.

It was cute..I had the biggest obsession with these little creatures in High School. So cute and clumsy looking, yet deadly XD The wildlife around here seems to be attracted to our houses lately!

Cute little buggers, really. :D

... for some reason, when I was a kid, the teachers had nothing better to do than to teach us about oddly named animals... such as the echidna, the aardvark, and the okapi.
I remembered the echidna and aardvark, I just always forget the name of of the okapi (had to google it). :p

I had to google to find out what Okapi was - I knew what is was, never knew that it was called that..but I SO WANT ONE xD

every time I hear aardvark it remind me of the Sesame Street song "I'm an aardvark and I'm proud.."
