I understand your opinion, I'm not even sure I can say I fully disagree.
But do you understand my point????
Im pro-choice.... But If someone I knew had a still-born child... I wouldn't say " Eh, one less kid in our over populated earth. If you ask me, you could've taken care of it months ago."... Because at that moment it would be uncalled, untactfull, and cruel.
You stating that you have no sympathy is rather innapropriate here. Because you knew this was intended to be a tribute, and some people actually took it seriously. Its not like its against the rules for you to foil that. You can post your opinoion on the topic... Just remember if you show a lack of respect for others it can come back to bite you. When you see that other members have shared and spilled out their emotions... why would you WANT to just come and besmirch that? (Esspecially if you were really apethetic about the issue.) Of course as soon as I aked myself why you'd want to do something like that... The thought immidiatly crossed my mind that you were a self proclaimed saddist and perhaps you were intentionally being disrespectful. Which is why I brought it up, and why I asked if it were possible to be both saddistic AND tactful.
I don't mind oppositional opinions however this is a sensitive topic and not a joking matter as was stated by other members. It is a tribute thread. Or it least it was supposed to be, but I feel that was kinda taken away with all this hooplaah.... I sure wish you could've just started your own "who cares about human life thread" or something.... But whatever... too late now I guess.
I guess it is hard to see it from the point of view of those that are no more. It is not that they died but there are better ways to go. No one deserved to go through what they did. I get emotional thinking about the Vietnam war memorial, watching Civil War footage, the holocaust footage and the native american genocide. It takes a really cold person to not be affected. This over concern I guess is hard for some to swallow without smoke getting in your eyes. Others say you had to be there or can feel some thread of human dignity by imagining this could happen to you. I pray to God that 9/11 doesn't happen again... along with all the dreadful unmentionables that has happened in history.
I was at home in San Fernando when my sister woke me up to see the burning buildings on the television. At first my uncle thought it was a movie... when consciousness set in it was infernal hell to have to go through for the brave men and women to get there to see if some bodies were still alive among the soot, ash and smoke. I'm an artist so can be pretty sensitive. I saw a drawing of a firefighter with his head buried in his hand thinking of disaster, the smoke, and families left behind. Unspeakable. Horrific.
Oprah interviewed kids that lost a mom or a dad or relative from the disaster and it is still unreal for them. A lot of candles were lit. A piece of their heart and soul was just suddenly gone.
The local priest tried to by cheerful though on the lighter silver lining side. 9/11 is like pearl harbor living in infamy, but reminded that 12/25 is coming... and is worth remembering... to give some semblance of hope.
It's wonderful of peach_follows to remember those tragic heroes. (Lights a candle) It takes some bloody guts. The soul searching from Scourge to fight for what is meaningful is also what makes the sacrifices of posting personal information here well worth the effort. Thanks so much.
Aleister is a weirdo. Innerhell -- his name says it all. Maybe they posted just to get credit points. Have a nice day. I hope they didn't get in Peach's face too much.
Don't disrespect your fellow posters, desxms.

However when something "tragic" happens, it is always a good idea to at least hold some respect for the people who were ballsy enough to give their lives to save another.
I used tragic in quotations because people's definitions of the word differ.
Opinion is opinion desxms. the difference in it makes the world thrive and to respect the opinons of others is what makes the world balanced the purpose of a discussion is to cultivate a healthy relationship without forcing you opinion on others.
Death is death no matter how you put it and the unfortuanate news is there are those who become the victims of somebody else's psychosis no matter what form that ended up in genocide.
