Thread: Addiction..good or bad?

Addictions that people have around me are often bad. Several of my family members have gotten into a lot of trouble because of their addiction to drugs and alchol. I personally was sort of addicted to the whole cutting thing, which in some peoples eyes it just as bad. So... Is addictions good or bad... Most are BAD...

does any1 think that addiction is good?
Even if the addiction is to a good thing persay reading...it would add us of our knowledge and stuff but..most ppl who are addicted 2 something like this is rare..it is bad for because they would become a loner or some sort..making distance away frm the society... thats bad...

Video game addictions can be bad I guess at times... But many of my guy friends have tournaments all the time. They socialize there and then talk about it all week at school... ^_^ But I still stand by what I said. Addictions are BAD

I personally don't think there is a good addiction. Whether it be to books, drugs or alcohol it's still a bad thing. For instance: Let's say you have an addiction to books, you read books all the time you can't stop. When you get work you'd rather read a book so your work dosn't get done because you can't stop reading and lose your job. The same principal guides drugs or alcohol, you want to get your job done, you want to do good but because you are addicted to w/e it may be you can't. In the end all addictions have the same outcome; control over you. Just my opinion

Sure there are bad addictions like drugs,food,smoking,drinking and so on, but there can be good addictions like eating healthy,working out reading .

But that kind of addiction is very rare koga... :/ honestly how many of your friends are like that...

Well, I think if someone is addicted to something it changes who they were. All of the sudden the most important thing to them is the addiction, which gets in the way of regular life. So, I would say for the most part addictions are bad, but there might be a few that prove me wrong.
