Since I'm moving to Taiwan for a while i looked into such things as Conventions in Taipei, it's not too much of a suprise that they have them (a lot of them, including a doujinshi one XD) So it got me inspired to look at different conventions around the world, it's really amazing how anime conventions are EVERYWHERE. Has anyone been to one outside of their country/area/region?
I know I've only been to the ones over here (u.s). Just curious to know which conventions you have been to, and where they big? fun? different stuff? ^.^

I only know of two...since I would/have never venture out of my area just to go to an anime convention. There's the big one down in Southern California with the Anime Expo, and it's a pretty big one. Whether it is the west coast version of Otakon I wouldn't know perhaps someone can tell me.
And there's one in northern California bay area, San Jose, the Anime Convention during May. Might go to one this year but it's tough since school is still in in May.

Long time ago I read that Otakon was in Baltimore, but I believe it moves around a lot more than say the AX would. AX would move around in the southern California area (last year Long beach, this year LA), but if I remember right from reading other forums they actually move to different states?The one in May(fanime~i'm guessing) is on labor day weekend,, for me it's right after finals

philippine anime conventions are pretty so-so if ya ask me..,.the biggest con here (i think) is herocon its an anime channel's con, i think it's pretty okay but it could be a whole lot better...the other cons around here? yeah like i said, pretty so-so...but i love philippines' toycon, well that's just because i'm a toy hunter/collector...that's the main reason why i attend cons, the other reason is simply because of the cosplay event....i do watch cosplay events, even if it gets pathetic most of the time....
