Chalice. Oh my gosh!! It totally drew me into opera too but guess what??? It was all natural! The same woman who was Plava Laguna sung that song again in an opera concert and I watched it on Youtube! She was unbelievable and got every pitch that the movie showed! Evgenia Laguna is the woman's name so they based Plava after her. :D
