Buttons

I always wondered what people meant by "Don't push my buttons!" Then I came to realize it was just a metaphore, but where are our buttons? Our noses? *Nipplez*? How about our eyeballs? LOL, I am bored right now I figure that I wanted to start a topic about something just stupid and irregular. :D:

But this methaphore usually means... don't do something that might trigger something...

For instance... ^^

A guy is saying things about this girl... and she will say...stop pushing my buttons or i will make you regret it...(this shows the torments by the guy will trigger the girl to do something bad to him.. ^^)

or another...

This girl is "arousing" a guy... and he says you are pushing the right buttons there...

If you dont understand that 1...you really are dumb... :p

It's not a physical button. No one pushes on your navel. No, it's more like "sore spots." When someone says something that offends you, they are "pushing your buttons."

Also, like RayMe said, its more positive application is when referring to arousal, with pleasure points rather than sore spots.

yes... but not to arousing only though to add... :p

hmmm... but nobody uses the positive ways much with this phrase though...it would sound pretty weird... maybe thats why.... *laugh*

Well I don't know about anyone else, but my button apparently fleshes on and off over my head, just below a flashing sign that says... Hey take a try at giving me an aneurysm! lol

Yeah it is an odd saying, but all to true. Some people just know how to push your buttons. I swear some day they're gonna make me pop a vessel. lol

ahh yes... that type of people are very irritating indeed... i mean... they usually "push your buttons" for fun or just to annoy you... who would like that? -.-

well the other way of pushing button is fun... :D :rolleyes1:

Yeah, I guess I didn't think of those buttons. Yeah, those buttons can be fun... If you have someone you like to push 'em. lol
