Thread: Carlos Mencia Gets put in his place

Is this a regular occurrence in the comedy world? Not that it would make the buttpie any less guilty of course...

I have not heard about that. But I used to watch Mind of Mencia alot! I like it. But it needs new episodes. Is that show canceled? If you know tell me.

Hopefully comedy central will be smart and cancel his TV show. He had an HBO one night stand special that was taken off the air after Joe Rogan called them saying Mencia was using his material.

Regular occurance? No. Comedians are comedians because they get their material from personal experience or politics.

Regular occurance? No. Comedians are comedians because they get their material from personal experience or politics.

Yeah my friend show me that, and the latest was that Gersh (Rogan's agency) dropped them because the same agency represented Mencia (or Ned Mentad whatever his real name is).

I haven't heard of this, but in his defense; after awhile you can only come up with so many racial and ethnic jokes on your own. Most jokes are reference to someone's personal experiences, so some jokes may not always be original. Comedy is a competitive business, whatever works for 'em, works. Even if it was stolen. I still liked some of Mencia's comedy, though his voice and tone gets very annoying after awhile. He did coin "dee dee dee" though.
