If I were you, I wouldn't make private issues public. and..

That makes one hell of alot of sense.
^^^ That sentence tickled me in soo many ways....
Now, I'm a bit disappointed in this thread, as I thought it would be about censorship, and not so much about your personal AO issues.
So I'm going to start with a rant about censorship, because... well, your thread title had me all buttered up for it.
While I find that being censored is generally annoying. Censorship is a necessary evil. When I was a younger artist... I never valued the concept, I wished we could all embrace life... in all its beauty and ugliness. But we all share this space. And having kids taught me quite quickly, that I don't like having the ugliness of the world pushed upon those young minds.
Its absurd to think that censoring the reality of the world is even possible. But, there are some things... that if are just flaunted freely, should come with the harshest punishment. I'm talking imprisonment even. If someone, or I, wants to view (or hear) vulgarity... then it should be in place where I have made the CHOICE to do so. Such as a designated (not wide open, public) area.
Laws, rules... they're are in place for a reason. They help protect the people who choose not to subject themselves to the spectacle.

As I digress, I come back to the fact that these are the rules, no matter how ridiculous they are the person who pays for the hosting will make them and enforce them. Now is that good for public relations toward a generation growing up on TV, video games, internet, movies? Shit no.
Now, BossAfro, That statement was extremely well put (in my opinion) tasteful profanity at the end and all. And with my knowledge of the staff here, I'd be willing to bet it'd be allowed to slide. I guess that's why I'd sort of have to refute the statement. This site has boundaries. A middle ground. It's rather unfortunate that you'd twist that into "double standards". I mean, if you want to speak in movie terms.... this is like a "PG-13" environment. They don't have to treat us like little babies... as, that isn't who this site mainly attracts. With that said... I think its perfect for this generation. Yep... allows you -some- freedom, while instilling the value of respecting the space and freedoms of others.
THATS LIFE EVERYWHERE!
In some places you can do and say almost anything, and in others, you cant... Welcome to the real world.
You should be able to post profanity on the net, I know of plenty of sites where you can freely do so. But this site, isn't one of them. And sure, they could put a filter on... and because of a thread like this.. they just might. But, they shouldn't HAVE to. I am quite grateful for the little bit of leash we have here. Hell, it took me several slaps on the hand to get a feel for where the lines are drawn. It shows that staff here DO have an appreciation of expression. The RULES are stated clearly, if you broke them, you were reprimanded. What is so unfair about that? Also, if you feel you have been treated unfairly, there is even instruction (in the rules) which tells you the appropriate way to handle it. (This ain't it).
As to porn on the site... I mean, I have been a member for years, and just viewed the hentai gallery for the first time... weeks ago. You have to have a certain status here to even see it. And what ever else you're declaring as porn... is your opinion really. I've never seen porn here when I didn't go looking for it. (aside from spam threads, which I knew weren't permitted, and I reported them) So, your opinion that there is "borderline porn" just strewn around, is an opinion I obviously don't share.
