Ok i got an incomeing 4day ban but w.e
I received an "Infraction" for saying "Shit" in a way not directed towards ANYONE. So now i ask, Why?
Its not being rude to anyone.
Its not being directed at anyone.
It is not discriminatory or racist towards anyone.
So the infractions was for typing 4 letters?
You guys can't figure out how to put a filter on this site? but you CAN firgure out how to put porn on it...You know what, just gimme the damn ban
I can't say shit but there can be porn on the site. That makes one hell of alot of sense.
I hope this post dont get deleted because this is the dumbest thing ever.
Anyone else agree that not being able to say a curse word on a site, but that same site having PORN on it, is stupid? Besides me?
And for people who are saying "Oh well you have to go there ot see the porn"
1.) not that hard to click 3 buttons
2.) Its on the front banner that EVERYONE SEES, It is the lady with the large breasts, with a nipple clearly showing through her top. Borderline porn or not? I think so.

Well untimely, they make the rules. If they want double standards they can host rape videos and have the rule you can't swear on the forums.
All my years of community internet'n, having extreme rules like this website leads to low casual user turn out. I see more locked threads here then any thing.
Back to the swearing thing; I can see the mods/admins trying to appeal a SFW site were any age can be apart of. But this is an ANIME website, most anime are positioned towards kids in their teens. And trying to shelter teens from "swear words" is not a battle worth fighting.
As I digress, I come back to the fact that these are the rules, no matter how ridiculous they are the person who pays for the hosting will make them and enforce them. Now is that good for public relations toward a generation growing up on TV, video games, internet, movies? Shit no.
I agree with you whole heartedly!!!!!! I got one of those friggin warnings for sayin b*tch! Ha get me on that one suckers lol!
If I were you, I wouldn't make private issues public. and..
^^^ That sentence tickled me in soo many ways....That makes one hell of alot of sense.
Now, I'm a bit disappointed in this thread, as I thought it would be about censorship, and not so much about your personal AO issues.
So I'm going to start with a rant about censorship, because... well, your thread title had me all buttered up for it.
While I find that being censored is generally annoying. Censorship is a necessary evil. When I was a younger artist... I never valued the concept, I wished we could all embrace life... in all its beauty and ugliness. But we all share this space. And having kids taught me quite quickly, that I don't like having the ugliness of the world pushed upon those young minds.
Its absurd to think that censoring the reality of the world is even possible. But, there are some things... that if are just flaunted freely, should come with the harshest punishment. I'm talking imprisonment even. If someone, or I, wants to view (or hear) vulgarity... then it should be in place where I have made the CHOICE to do so. Such as a designated (not wide open, public) area.
Laws, rules... they're are in place for a reason. They help protect the people who choose not to subject themselves to the spectacle.
Now, BossAfro, That statement was extremely well put (in my opinion) tasteful profanity at the end and all. And with my knowledge of the staff here, I'd be willing to bet it'd be allowed to slide. I guess that's why I'd sort of have to refute the statement. This site has boundaries. A middle ground. It's rather unfortunate that you'd twist that into "double standards". I mean, if you want to speak in movie terms.... this is like a "PG-13" environment. They don't have to treat us like little babies... as, that isn't who this site mainly attracts. With that said... I think its perfect for this generation. Yep... allows you -some- freedom, while instilling the value of respecting the space and freedoms of others. As I digress, I come back to the fact that these are the rules, no matter how ridiculous they are the person who pays for the hosting will make them and enforce them. Now is that good for public relations toward a generation growing up on TV, video games, internet, movies? Shit no.
THATS LIFE EVERYWHERE!
In some places you can do and say almost anything, and in others, you cant... Welcome to the real world.
You should be able to post profanity on the net, I know of plenty of sites where you can freely do so. But this site, isn't one of them. And sure, they could put a filter on... and because of a thread like this.. they just might. But, they shouldn't HAVE to. I am quite grateful for the little bit of leash we have here. Hell, it took me several slaps on the hand to get a feel for where the lines are drawn. It shows that staff here DO have an appreciation of expression. The RULES are stated clearly, if you broke them, you were reprimanded. What is so unfair about that? Also, if you feel you have been treated unfairly, there is even instruction (in the rules) which tells you the appropriate way to handle it. (This ain't it).
As to porn on the site... I mean, I have been a member for years, and just viewed the hentai gallery for the first time... weeks ago. You have to have a certain status here to even see it. And what ever else you're declaring as porn... is your opinion really. I've never seen porn here when I didn't go looking for it. (aside from spam threads, which I knew weren't permitted, and I reported them) So, your opinion that there is "borderline porn" just strewn around, is an opinion I obviously don't share.

... Not Ever Again...
I agree that censorship is sometimes required, but I do not think it was justified in your case. People say cuss words in these forums all the time, as long as they arent directed to anyone in an insulting manner, or overly used.
Crazy people don't know they're going crazy. They think they're getting saner.
In some cases, I always thought about giving the ability to warn a user to everyone if they didn't follow the rules. Then the moderator would see the warning and would make the actual infraction decision depending how much of a violation it is.
However everyone's "offensive" ideals will differ. But a baseline rules may prevent this.
Being a mod isn't all fun in games. I tried it for a hot minuet, found my self enforcing my own rules and values.
I don't think I give aceman and other mods enough credit, yea he may lock a crap load of threads but he is just enforcing the rules. Like a good cop, he judges everyone the same.
We just wish for you all to use more expressive words to state your feelings. Most people curse left and right and it doesn't lead into an intelligent conversation.
Anyways its part of the rules and isn't up for discussion. Closing.
