Character Traits

What do you think are your best and worst character traits? What is it you like most about yourself?... and what do you like least?

Upon meeting someone new, what do you want them to gather about you from a first impression? Whats the most important thing someone should know about who you are?

Also, is there anything about you, that other people have told you about... Has someone (or multiple people) ever told you that you had a character trait that you didn't feel you had? Or you didn't recognize it until someone pointed it out?

My best Character trait is creativity. My worst is emotional instability.

Upon meeting people I try to somehow show my creative side. It is important though that a person understand that I am fragile, especially if its a prospective mate.

People tell me that I am (too) sensitive, I agree... Although..some have tried telling me I am emotionally abusive (because I "guilt trip" people). I disagree there. I dont think having hurt feelings and telling someone about it is guilt tripping, or abuse for that matter.

People usually tell me I'm cold hearted, and funny. As for my worst quality, I think I need to relax more and just go with the flow instead of making waves.

My stalker says this about me:
I want you to know that my favorite dream of all is you. (He underlined the "you" twice in his note. lol)
Most people are tolerable only in short doses. You're different. You're the only person I've met who I could see everyday, yet still be excited about each time. Smile for me and tell me that you miss me. I miss that smile and I miss seeing the playfulness in your eyes.

So in short, I must also be playful, not easy to get tired of, and I must have a nice smile.

Hmm... best trait: I don't know. >.<

Worst trait: I tend to worry too much.

Someone told me that I adapt quickly, which I'm not too sure I do or not. *thinks*

Upon meeting new people, I try to give them the impression that I'm pretty easy-going and that if they need someone to talk to, then I will listen.

Also, once I'm pretty comfortable around someone, I usually act more hyper and outgoing.

What I have found out about me is that some times my best traits are also my worts at times and vice-a-verca.

I am very friendly. I can get along with damn near any one, problem I some times atract the kind of people
I don't like for one reason or another. In some ways it also kills my relationship in that when I am trying to warm up to a girl they think I just want to be friends and the next thing I know she is dating some other guy. Its frustrating as hell.

Honesty. I cant stand lieing to people, and every one likes my honesty as I tell them flat out and point blank what I think or who did what. How ever some times it gets my ass burned because I don't like lieing so much to keep my self from feeling the heat, and there for developed a vage respons to what ever the situation is, how ever its rather obviace. So girls or any one in general, do not ask me a question which involves an answer you do not want to hear. Such as the "Does this dress make me look fat?" question.

Polite and gentlmanly. Whats funny is that if one took a look at me they would not expect this, which is why it impresses people so much and I like to catch them off guard. I was more or less raised like that and how to behave in "professional" situations and such. Problem is that people can get the wrong impression that I am stuck up or something.

Layed back. For the most part I am very easy going, I like to take things slowe and go at my own pace and some times have a "I can give a rats ass" attatude about stuff, which as you can guess how it also bites me in the rear. Whats Ironic is that I have an also paranoid thing about me as well, the kind of "Ok, I do give a rats ass and I am going to get my self in deep Sh*t if I don't do what ever it is I need to be doing." I can also be very high strung as I am easily stressed about things and is rather hard to let go which is why this is rather ironic.

There are more, but I do not want to put you people to sleep.

Yeah... I can see how what some may view as negative traits can come in handy. How some of those "negative" traits may be able to work as an asset in someones ability to function.

I was just talking with my ex the other day about how calloused one can become after life kinda deals them a crappy hand.

Being that way can make someone a bit insensitive, apathetic, "cold hearted" if you will. Some people might view those as negative traits. But for an overly sensitive person like myself... I envy apathy. I would give anything to feel, or care....LESS.

See, I noticed "cold hearted" certainly wasn't listed as a huge negative trait on Zev's list.. Certainly not the worst. However, making waves is a bad one. I also happen to feel like making waves is way easy to do when you're too sensitive (like me), because so much hurts or offends me.

Same here. I beleive that creativity has always been a good trait of mine. I have a pretty vivid imagination as well but, I'm sure that can be a bad thing sometimes (depending on who I'm talkin' to, I suppose). I try to be a people person, which I believe is always a good thing. Problem is: I try to please every person I meet, so I end up over-commiting myself to all these random plans that I don't even remember making half the time, LOL.

It bothers the sh*t outta me too. It's always been like that with me--especially in high school. All the girls thought I wanted to just be their friend; or they thought I was gay. The latter opinion never struck a healthy chord with me, LOL.

That sounds an awful lot like me. I'm the same way. I'm pretty laid back and at the will of The Universe, for the most part. Most days, I really don't give a rat's ass about anything in general. Life--like Peach said--dealt me a pretty crappy hand, on and off; so I grew to just stop caring about things after a certain point. I care when my friends are hurt or upset, but most trivial things that would bother or excite most other people, I could care less. Sometimes it gets me in to situations I'd rather not be in. Apathy blinds people... But then there's the point when I have to care and if I don't, like you said, I'm gonna get myself in to deep sh*t. I get pretty high strung and anxious/paranoid when I'm stressed out. I had an anxiety attack this morning, which was the first in a long time, so you can tell how much sh*t I just let roll off my back.

I wouldn't envy those who are apathetic, because we have our problems too. Apathy catches up with people, if that makes sense. Sooner or later, you'd be forced in to a situation where you'll HAVE to care. You'll NEED to give a rat's ass about something--and it's usually something that will affect you directly.

If anything i'd hate to brag about would be of my own traits xD but here am i.. to brag of my trait... thanks to peach's thread.. :laugh: jk :p

If most of all my most obvious trait I have shown around AO would be noisy, annoying (don't know if you do think of me that way xD) bubbly.. and hmm... I do boast a lot about my self do I?

Im actually a very shy person if i am around people Im not used to with.. pretty quiet and calm most of the times but when im with my best friends.. im very energetic and can go pretty crazy as well >.< ahh the dumb things I've done.. :laugh:

Um.. well THIS doesn't seem to boastful to me... The opposite in fact. Unless your boasting about being noisy and annoying which would be kinda funny. Either way, I don't find you noisey or annoying... or boastful for that matter. :smile:
