it'll probably pass but it's stipulation is kind of large. It only allows one OUNCE of marijuana to be had in a household without arrest, that means that holding large amounts of marijuana will still be illegal.

Compare one measly ounce of MJ to the countless pack of cigarettes one can buy, I don't think it'll make a big taxation impact if that's your argument. Plus if people are still arrested for holding large amounts of MJ, then your 'prisons freed up' argument isn't all that solid either.

I think it's a step in the right direction, but I think it should be broadened to be truly effective. Clearly it's being passed with the idea of medical uses in thought, not wholly recreational use.

Yes, that's true, it only allows one ounce. But personally I think if the rule goes into affect that would mean no jail time and instead a fine. This benefits everyone with more money to the city and more room for convicts in prison. Plus it is at least a step in the right direction.

The other thing is that this does nothing to change Federal law. This problem has already been encountered with the California 'Medical Marijuana' law, as the DEA has stated that it will have no effect on their operations...

I seriously hope the DEA has better thins to do. With the massive trade in heroin and cocaine the DEA has bigger fish to fry. I find it hard to believe they are still tracking the marijuana trade.

When you have guarded and 'booby-trapped' illegal plantations being setup in national parks and forests around the country, (setup and run by the various Mexican Drug cartels), this is still a very serious issue...

i think that marijuana shouldnt be legal. because well its bad for your health and its illegal for a reason you know
