Yea it depends thou, I don't get alot since I'm poor so I respect the things I get when I get them; I can wait to get something even if it takes a year or so. But when I get it, it sure does make me happy.
Sometimes when I go shopping I see things that I really want. I think of how these things would benefit me, make me feel and how much happier I would be if I had the money to buy them. Sometimes I cant resist and so I just pull out my credit card and buy the unaffordable, must have item. I am thrilled for about a week and then it goes to the back of my closet or in a pile on my floor somewhere. So my question is, Do material objects make you happy? Sometimes I think they do but I think for myself it is just the feeling of accomplishment of getting something new. What do you think?

I know this sounds weird but improving in a skill makes me more happy than buying something new. Like improving my cooking skills. Like I was happy when I finally taught myself not to over cook my pancakes.
When I buy new things they just sit around in my room collecting dust.

ha when i was poor i felt the same.
i didnt have alot but treasured everything i had.
but now in the army i have alot of money to spend and i spend it on crazy stuff
but there are still times when i buy something and realize i bought something stupid and then i feel bad.
but having stuff didnt particularly make me happy.
it didnt matter to me if i had it or not
but i did enjoy what i got
MICHIERU RULES ALL
Hmm, no I don't think material objects makes me happy. I mean when I get it sure I will be like yay, but after a week or so it gets boring. What makes me happy is when I finally finish something that I was working hard on. My friends/family also makes me happy/sad, but material objects never did make me happy it's just something I want.
Thanks lifeforce! (:
Hmmm......I like things, I like getting things, but I think being with my family and friends makes me more happier than going out and buying something.
Retail therapy is the best.
Most material possessions make you happy for a very short time (they're only physical anyway, and they're not permanent) but there are those that give you a lifetime of happiness, so to speak - like my D70s. Of course, being only human, I always whine about wanting to get a new camera, but I'm pretty satisfied with what I've got. Life just wouldn't be complete without dissatisfied whiners.
