Thread: Do Numbers Have Meaning?

To me, numbers have no special meaning at all. But like Mr. Miyata said, I'm not proficient in high level mathematics so it might be way above my head.

(Un)Lucky numbers, special traits based on your age and stuff like that are just baseless superstition to me. Just like how your blood type is supposed to say anything about your personality or how horoscopes tell you about the near future.

I have never found even the least bit of proof that these things work or carry even the smallest amount of truth.

mm i never really believed that numbers have meanings.
Like my friend said that like everything adds up to the number 23 in some way. I just think that some dood was board and did that.

But i say that numbers only have a meaning for instance aniverseries or birthdays. Thats the only meaning i would give a number.

Well you have kind of answered your own question. Your birth date means the day you were born which is that meaning if you understand what i mean .

Well yes i belive they have meanings, everything has a purpose even if it's a little purpose, and if it has a purpose it must have a meaning. It's understanding that meaning thats the tricky part.

I believe that in Human Society of today, Numbers (or Mathamatics) have the most important meaning. Take Computers for example. On simple terms, computers work on 1 & 0.

Numbers are what define society now, in the same way that the 'Words' of Religion and 'Social Figures' (leaders...) defined the world when Science was thought to be Magic/Alchemy/Voodoo ect!

Also, it should be pointed out that Numbers never lie and is almost an 'International' language.

hmm i think they are important it tell us a lot of vital imformation..i mean numbers wouldn't be invented if it wasn't meangful?..can u realy imagaine a world w/o numbers?O.o..what chaos..

Yes they help us build so we can determen if we have to make this door this height theres tons of reasons for numbers.

Actually, i take my answer back. Numbers don't have meanings because if they had meanings they wouldn't have had to be made by human knowledge, a legend is a legend people can't just go and make one. So no numbers may have meanings which they do. But they don't have a really big meaning as humans created them.
