Thread: Do you believe in luck?

I am firmly against the belief of luck. All there is to me is probability and chance. As for destiny, life happens it wasn't the will of some higher power that made you pass a test or made you meet someone. There is always logic behind every thing that happens. You probably passed that test because you know the subject and spent some time studying, mabe you only ran into that person because you were up late the night before and slept in or decided to take the bus instead of your car. To sum up I believe that what we called fate and luck are merely chance and conscious decisions made on our part.

well i believe that luck was a creation by man to give man so excuse for what they cannot explain. example. getting 100 on a test that you didnt study. instead of saying that somehow, all the lessons the teacher did stuck to u and you made some decisions that were midly based on SOMETHING, you call it luck. i believe that people who are not skilled at something have to beleive in luck, but remember. almost everything we do in real life is based on luck - lottery, poker, blind dates, contests..... so its a man made quality that human kind itself believes in.

i dont believe in the luck, but ... sometimes i guess it exists. many times ive found money even i found $100. thats real luck XD

Yes, but my family seems to have mostly bad luck. But sometimes it might be a bit of both. When I was in an accident it was bad luck. However, could the fact that the car stopped rolling just short of the lake be thought of as good luck?

I don't believe in luck. "Luck" is an excuse for people to sit and wait for kittens and rainbows to shine.
I believe that if I want something to happen --- I'll go get it myself.
Of course, I do pray and make wishes... for guidance. But I'll still do the labor. <^x^>lll Baa~

Yeah... i agree with that aya... Luck dont always come... so we should do something to avoid from getting bad luck or misfortunes... ^^

for example... keep money in the bank for the future... it's not that high of possibility you will win a lottery or something... ^^

I would say I believe in luck and fate. I do consider myself lucky that I have found great friends and a caring boyfriend. If it wasn't for them then I don't know where I would be. They have helped me through a lot and I am grateful to them all.

As for fate, I do think that its kind of real because it was fate that I went through a tough year back in 2005-2006. I almost differed my time at Uni because it was too much to handle. But didn't because I wanted to get it over with and it was fate that lead me to actually finishing Uni with someone who supports me and got me through it all. It was fate that it was someone I met two years ago and speak to often that got me through my time at Uni all together.
