I think it does count. If the girl can tell he put a lot of effort into it even though it might not look like it from the outside it obviously counts since he put effort into it. But on the other hand if he just wrote some lame card with little effort to it I think the girl would notice and has a right to be pissed.

You know, you would win me over if you did that!!! But i really just except the thing you made and say you didn't have to waste your money on me!

For every birthday card/ Christmas card i write in, i always have to write someone in that is personal to that perons and my self. Just to show that yeah i brought this card for you and i didn't just write our names in it but i wanted to make more like fun/personal for you read and keep. I remember for my brothers 13th birthday, his card was just full of little quotes and weird info about the card that i thought would make him laugh and have fun reading! i mean whats the point of just signing a card and have no other message in it???

As for me now i am a student, i have gotten the nack of making things for people rather than going out and buying something, though it is for my bf, i would make sure that it shows i how feel rather than getting the cheapest on there. For his pressents, i get what he likes weither is be a MP3 player for £34 pounds of a teddy £24. If it something i know he would like, then i will get it for him.

Like Abu said, its about the feeling behind it that makes is special not what is given. because of it just something you don't think or care if the person likes it or not then it kind of shows.

I think it should count. Not everyone has money or talented enough to steal things. Everyone should be given a chance to prove themselves before being rejected. Some girls are so shallow that they can't look past a small homemade card and see the love behind it.

Of course the thought counts more than the quality of wat u give to another person. It shows your integrity n feelings to the person that the gift is sent 2.To reject it,is cruel. All your hard efforts is wasted. The person who rejects the gift is shallow in character n is a fool coz they don't c the effort u put through 2 give the gift to him/her.

the thought does count but sometimes it wont work. i mean to me it's sweet but sometimes is a sorry excuse that is stuid. i mean if you forgot my birthday and you go out at the last mionute and get me a bag of candy and we been together for a while i would appreciate it more if you just told me. i mean sometimes you just gotta fes up instead of being cheesy. the thought does count but sometimes it's not good enough

I helped out by writing a poem for the card and stuff.

Anyways my question to you is this, does the thought really count? or does the value of the gift count? I want honest answers here!! i dun want any of that "of coz it does count" none of that. I want plaiun and simple answers abt this!
No no no. Well actually it depends on the girl. It is the thought that counts. THe girl should be glad that she is getting anything. Even if it isn't all that spectacular. Lol, he didn't color it in?? u lose points for that on my scale. If i am given a present, i will be happy i got it, no matter how crappy it is, because in the end, you could have gotten nothing at all anyways. Something is always better than nothing.

Well in some way you have to show them that you care, especially If you know that person well.
