I stated something like this in the anime forum recently. It is much more difficult to be an otaku now. Used to be a tight knit subculture. Now that it is less underground it almost means nothing to just watch anime since everyone does. It is way harder to be the otaku who has seen it all.
... it seems like there are levels because in our anime club there tends to be the people who
like anime and just watch it
people who like anime and manga
then there are the people who live there practically whole lives by anime ..(me lol) anyways it kinda depends then doesnt it

I think it's come to a point where it's getting a little too far for its own good.
Some people I know, while dear friends, are just...a little too ecstatic over some things now. They craze over things that I personally would thing of as strange or out there. That is however, in some respect I've changed a bit as well. However, I believe some of it gets out of hand. But for the most part, it's still in an evolutionary stage that I think given the right circumstances can turn out well. All up to how people address the issue I suppose.

maybe they just want u to think that some of my friends are like that but i say just let em they arent hurting anyone hell i am like that too
