Thread: Fashion Icon

I don't see how someone can be happy buying something that some said you should wear. Clothes tell a fair bit about someone so if someone is wearing from a fashionable shop then they are showing their individuality but instead they show how good they are at copying someone's idea. I always wear clothes like hassun said about wearing what I want and how I want to wear them. I don't follow anyone who says I should wear my clothes a certain way because it isn't part of who I am.

My fashion icons are Victoria Beckham, Sienna Miller and Gemma Ward. It's not really hard to see why. They ARE leading fashionistas, and they do command a lot of respect with regards to their choice of clothing. It's weird that I should pick the three of them since they are essentially very different in terms of style (Victoria's always so posh, Sienna's boho and Gemma is very laid-back Aussie), but that just goes to show how eclectic I can get with fashion. I don't really care about personality; if something looks good, if I like it, I go with it. And that's all that matters.

Right. I don't think following "trends" is a necessity, since these days trends come and go so quickly that it's almost as though everything remains in style forever (which is ironic when you think about how "fleeting" these trends are). But it's not wrong to have a fashion icon and religiously follow what he/she wears. Also, though I don't really believe in "trends", I still do keep up with the times, and wearing things that just look frumpy are obviously going to get you weird remarks. There is a reason things go out of style - it's not that they simply get boring, it's that people start realizing that they don't work as well as they thought... and new trends come about because people are experimenting with new things that compliment their body shapes and so on. So yeah. And to each his/her own, right? So I will criticize people who dress funny, but they don't have to take my sh*t. Likewise, I wear what I like, and people can laugh at me if I want, but I don't have to feel down about it.

Well yes... if it's for fun and all it's ok... well i just think it is not money wise and... not really a good habit... but if it's a hobby and it is not overdone with.... well i think that wont be too bad of a... habit... i think thats the word for it... ehehe,... is it?

oooh... calm down there... well yes.. people views are not too be taken seriously unless it is for your own good... and it is advised to do what you want so you'd be happy and it seems like your on the lighter side of the fashion or trend follower.. ^^ is it?

wow... now thats a high pick... but got to say the way they wear are kinda too... "showy" or... sexy... @.@ but what the hell am i saying here... i love looking at sexy girls so why the hell should i be saying that they are doing something bad?

It's not necessarily important to me. It's just fun. Almost like an art. I can draw inspiration from others and create my own. I DO however have an obsession with wrist and armbands. i just feel naked without them (and no i do not where them for emo induced reasons. i just like how they look)

Victorian and Elizabethan of course. Maybe a little renaissance mixed in for good measure. I love clothes inspired by these era's. God bless gothic loli. The 60's weren't so bad I suppose.

Well technically we keep recycling old fashion to make knew fashion. So both.

I don't know but i'm no fashion follower ... i mean i wear what i find right for the plan and time ... the answer is pretty easy and short for me but i got to admit that i hate this kind of female dresses which the long skirt starts from above the navel .. i just want to puke when seeing one

I kinda-sorta follow fashion...I go more for comfort (I try not to wear things that require tanktops underneath, because they're annoying) but I still enjoy looking at the different trends and deciding what I like.
My favorite fashion eras are the 1920s-1950s and Tudor (even though the clothes were uncomftable).

You can look nice without being on the cutting edge of fashion. In fact, sometimes people look BETTER when they don't follow trends. Not everyone can be a Twiggy . . .
