Thread: Fiscal crisis

Well, it certainly has made me more grateful about what i have.

The world's economy being in the hole it is, I now realize how fortunate i am to have a job, a roof over my head, and food in the kitchen. What was normally an everyday item has now become a luxury only the wealthy can acquire, so i;ve been taking every oppurtunity to buy something nice for myself or some one.

well my nieghbors are slowly moving out of my street because they couldnt afford the house and this FINANCIAL crysis is starting to scare me but it hasnt affected me .....................yet

Hell to the no. I haven't changed and it really hasn't effected me. At all. It's hard to notice any kinds of major changes in global finances when it isn't an issue in your country. I'm optimistic for this year, the next, and again.

I don't know how often I have to say this but don't worry. Don't let yourself get lost in all the things that may or my not happen; predictions can be wrong. Fear is letting yourself be controlled by someone who is afraid themselves and please, just take a breath. There is no crisis and there never was. Things are just changing.

The more complicated we make our society the more we have to think about in bed just before sleep so do yourself a favor and just relax. And please, don't ride my ass because I'm have to courage to believe the sun won't explode in our lifetime and mass disease outbreak won't kill us all.

well.... kudos flawedmind, for being so optimistic, and yes i agree, america has been in some tougher times than this , but we will recover

and neodeath thanks for mentioning that we must be grateful for everything we have.

but i must mention that alot of people are in the streets now more that ever, so please dont forget about the ones in need

I think watching dozens of major businesses go under, the vendors in the mall I work in empty out one by one and hearing about hundreds of thousands of layoffs country wide has definitely changed my spending habits. I've found myself unwilling to spend money on things that I don't absolutely need anymore, sweeping my interest for non essential items under the rug. Though ironically it's exactly this kind of mentality that is pushing our country deeper and deeper into a financial recession, and ultimately a depression. But I'd rather let someone else's bank account stimulate the economy.

It changed me a little bit. I'm now trying to be a more conservative spender. (Unless I see a sale)
