The only thing I could find flying cars good for is recreational purposes.
Took the words out of my friggen mouth, its practical because I say it is and because its awesome, I don't care about the real world practicality on the flying car topics because they are awesome and I want to be like the damn Jetsons.
Ok, in all honesty, I can see hover being practical, talk about allturran, even over water.

The only thing I could find flying cars good for is recreational purposes.
the primary cons I see to them is a cheap way to make them and finding a suitable fuel once they've been mass produced. If we're still relying on fossil fuels once flying cars become mass produced, we're in trouble. And who would be the Henry Ford of the flying car? would an existing car company take over or would someone else have to develop it?
there are some positives I can see too. Someone brought up training people to fly them, but when you think about it, is that a bad thing? It would be harder to get a license and it'd be expensive so only the most competent drivers would be on the sky ways. though then there's the problem of airtraffic and parking.
I hadn't thought of hover cars yet, are there prototypes or experimental hover cars yet?
I think they are an expensive hobby for now.. but in the future... personal air traffic would be an everyday thing.. o.o
Human population would blow like massively? I think there'd be little space for roads in the futureSo yea.. air traffic would be considered a faster means of moving and it would safe cost for many things.... but of course like all things.. nothing is perfect

I don't know if flying cars will come true some day. I think is more possible the concept cars like Minority Report or I Robot.
