George Carlin dies at Age 71

The comedy world as lost a little part of its laughter today.
On June 22nd, he was admitted to St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California complaining of chest pain. He died later that day at 5:55 p.m. PDT of heart failure at the age of 71. He had a history of cardiovascular issues, including several heart attacks.
George was best known for his political and black humor and his observations on language, psychology, and religion along with many taboo subjects, as well has being the first host of Saturday Night Live.
My condolences to his family, friends, and his legion of fans, to which I am one of.

Re: George Carlin dies at Age 71
He was never a big favorite of mine. But his books are an awesome read when with a group of idiot friends.
R.I.P.
Re: George Carlin dies at Age 71
George Carlin was a very sick individual and he will be missed. I suggest you guys read his book, "When will Jesus bring the Pork Chops," it's very sick and funny.
Re: George Carlin dies at Age 71
(T_T) <-- that's how i feel right now...
^_^ can't say i liked or agreed with everything he said, but the guy was hilarious...
Re: George Carlin dies at Age 71
i saw this at first and my jaw dropped.
i've been dealt a crushing blow, as have most fans of comedy.
but this leads to a fact my father pointed out.
"All of the good musicians and comedians are taken from us! Hendrix, Hedberg, Cobain, and now Carlin? All the good talent is taken and we're left with Michael Jackson." ah well, i know i'll be flamed for this later, but whatever. it's true if you think about it. when some one gains a huge fanbase, they either become corrupt and insane, or dead.
Re: George Carlin dies at Age 71
A brilliant man. He gave the people a lot of food for thought... Wrapped in a delicious tortilla of humour. And that's the pinnacle of good stand-up.
Time for him to join Bill Hicks and Richard Pryor in heaven... Oh wait, he doesn't believe in heaven and neither do I! :D
The great Electron mourns his loss.
Re: George Carlin dies at Age 71
truly sad that this would happen. he was one of my all-time favorite comedians and i now take several views on subjects from him. his view on religion was the best and i look at it the same way he did. he will surely be missed and i will forever view him as one of my idols and mentors. RIP sir george carlin. ur comedy and viewpoints will never be forgotten.
