well umm if they really hate each ohter and not just *aaarrhh i hate you (next day) uuuhhh i love u soooo much* but really hate the person and they would agree on breaking up so that there would be no misunderstandings like are they just on a break or something like that

Every one (all three) of my relationships ended in some form like this: One person realizes the other could just be a friend and no one would notice. You always tread a fine line, but when friendship supersedes love, or whatever, you're doomed. The one will accuse the other of being emotionally cold or unloving, etc.

simply when there is nothing more and you guys are bored with each other, and just start getting on each others nerves...
