i went to Anime Expo '06... or was it '05? i cannot seem to remember...
the only reason it sucked is becuz of the people we went with, but besides that it was loads of fun! it was nice to see all the pretty things on display, and to eat over priced food and laugh at the people thinking they so cool for buy pocky... i even won a CD case in a game thing! yay for tofu records! what else? oh, the costumes weren't so great that year, but it was still funny to see all the loser kids in really, really crappy Na-ru-to costumes...
oh, i told one girl that if you tie your kimono in front, that means you're a prostitute, but she didn't really get what i was saying... i think she was a Samurai Champloo character or something, i'll never forget that funny look!
as for tips and tricks for Cons, um...
1. go with people you like (it sucks when there's a scuffle 2 days into the Con)
2. stay at a hotel near the convention if you can so the fun never stops!
3. try to bring your own food or atleast aquaint yourself with the area for good, cheap places to eat
4. keep a tab on the ATMs in case you have a credit card...
5. and if you want to buy "adult material", Cons are the best place to do it, lots of selection... and as long as you don't stand out, your friends won't know you're there ^_~!!!

Everything that has to do with anime? There should be a lot to buy, and some crazy stuff you never see before. I remember that this guy did his own anime art on different fabrics, very very awesome but I didn't buy it of course because it cost $600. Depending on the size of your con, the more vendors mean the more competition. Don't be afraid to walk around once first before deciding what you want to buy.Originally Posted by Renn

lol well guys and girls i had a great time at my first convention!!!It was so cool. I met Monica Rial(is that right) it was so awsome!!and i got a free dvd of Ah My Goddess.and it got some stuff but i didn't have that much money but anyway it was great!!!!!

I go to at least one convention every year. The best i've ever been to was in Texas. I was so huge! Plus I cosplayed at that one and got recognized. Whats more fun than being recognized out of hundreds of people?

these are all good tips, especially the mod by Aceman. SMELL = BAD!
CiCi's Pizza is great, theyre typically in bigger cities where cons go down, and its an entire buffet for less than 5 bucks!
