    Human Lifespan

My opinon on this subject is that the human life span is slowly shorting due to the fact that people do not care for their health. Many people are gain weight like crazy and not working out which is a bad thing. (I would ramble on the health issues of it all because i am planing on going into the medical field, sorry of topic) But people need to start caring about it all because the death rate is also increasing at a higher rate and the age groups for the death rate is getting closer to children's ages. Also that in any place we should encourage more physical activites.
Many people are getting to the point that their children in the future can end up with many medical problems due to the fact that you were too lazy to get up and walk for a while.

    Re: Lifespan of the human

Actually based on some reports I read once we humans are living longer these days due to the medical advancements.
But you are right unless things change our lifespan will start to shorten as shown with the increase on the death rate (for starters). But its not as easy to improve our health as just simply working out. If we want to increase our lifespan we have to change our entire lifestyle. We spend so much time working that we don't have enough time to slow down our life and enjoy it. We are always so pressured to do things , and do them quick, that it affects everything. When talking with old relatives, I always noticed the same thing. They lived a peaceful/relaxed life with no rushes or hurries. And even tough they smoked heavily, drank and did things that they were not supposed to they lived between 90-100 years.

If there's one thing our life expectancy isn't doing then it's becoming shorter.

    Re: Lifespan of the human

All this is taking life span from one perspective ...
there's way too many other reasons other than health itself .. as an example technology and brain usage rates ... as long as we're progressing in life our lives are becoming shorter and shorter .. people in ancient times lived very long in comparison with people now (natural death) because their lives weren't complicated as ours now .. every new generation learns a lot more than the one before at a basic level of knowledge .. the more technology develops the more generations come the more our basic level or natural level of knowledge is increased .. gyro people didn't have to think farther than their caves .. how to hunt how to eat how to feel worm .. but never was complicated as it is now ..
that's a very decisive factor of human's life span .. and the prove on that is pretty clear and obvious to everyone taking in consideration that people live more closer to simplicity or in nature have a lot more longer life span compared to the normal person who lives in an industrial country or city ...
Life and Death are always one and the same

But also these drug kill people as well. If the person takes to many they slowly kill the liver (which helps filter blood) which doesn't help the blood at all. Not drugs are good for example weight loss pills not a good thing they are filled with some many unhealthy items that it's better to actually get and go to the gym and eat less.

    Re: Lifespan of the human

life spans are defiantly not shortening. Though we may have issues such as obesity, we have medical technologies that can save a persons life because from obesity. We also have an increasing awareness of the things that can harm us (unlike years back, when smoking was apprently good for you). So no, I can't see that our life spans will be decreasing any time soon, so long as we have the knowledge the medical technology.
