Thread: I feel your pain-

I think all guys can agree with this one:

When you see another guy on tv getting punched, hit, land on, etc. on their nuts. Made famous by America's Funniest Videos, most guys would go "OHHHHHH" and make this face "><" when we see another guy get hurt in that area. Only for a quick second, then our sadistic side kicks back in and we laugh being glad it wasn't us.

yah i have felt peoples pain.. many times.... when ever i see someone getting hurt,... when i get a bad feeling about someone or something...or when i think some bad is going to happen or happened
.....it's called empathy when you can feel and understand what others are going through and you feel in a way.. bad for them because of this.. it's usually raped around personal experience and what not.....but it's different with everyone i would assume...
when i feel other's pain i don't exactly feel it in the same way as it is being applied to them... it just hurts my stomach really badly and i feel really tense and get a huge headache it has happened quite often in my case...

I feel other peoples pain, like in movies when someones throat is getting slit in a scary
movie, I then cringe up and grab my neck like that has to hurt same for the wrists, I
love scary movies I can handle them alot better than any of my friends or family,
but when you see something gross it don't matter if you can handle horror movies or
not there will always be a seen that grosses you out, me I eat will watching the gross
parts of fear factor where contestants eat a bug or something and if I'm watching it
with someone they will say how can you eat and watch this at the same time? I say
I don't know, I don't have a light stomach like you, I guess.

Well the fact that we can be emotional about someone elses pain is quite obvious, and the fact that we can immagine, for example, our balls being kicked, is also very true, it's nothing paranormal, it's just our psyche...

But when it commes to mothers feeling when their children are in pain far away, and when a twin sister knows that her sister is in trouble, that is something worth mentioning...

I am very emotional and very immaginative, I can connect to people easily, I can understand the pain of people on TV and when I meet them, and sometimes, when I really feel for the person and wish I could take their pain away, I kinda feel the pain too, but I think it's just because of the power of my mind.

I have never really felt someone elses pain from afar, I think... I don't really remember, though I get worried easily about my bf and sometimes my worry turns out to be indeed worth feeling.
I read in a book that reaserched everything paranormal though, about many cases when people feel someone elses pain from afar. For example, the story that has stayed in my mind the best is about a woman, who was doing something in the kitchen, with her husband watching the kids. Suddenly she had a feeling that she is choking. Somehow she immagined to go into the living room, where she found her kid sleeping with his face in the pillow >.< I mean, she even didn't have any reason to be worried, since someone was watching the kid!!! I can't know if those stories were true, but I believe they could be- they seemed very real and weren't overexaggerated...

Surprisingly enough if one of the guys in that group has gotten his kicked, crushed or whatnot won't laugh because he'll remember the pain of getting that sensitive area hit.

I have a really weird example of something like that.... But I don't know if its exactly what you're talking about.

I was getting surgery when I was 16. They were having a hard time finding a vein for the I.V... There were 2 anestegiologists (sp?) on each side of me. Poking me with needles, over and over. Still with no luck hitting a vein. I tried counting But lost count after 16 pokes.... It hurt so bad, that I just tried to make my mind go eleswhere. They wheeled me into the O.R., and put me under without an I.V.... When I woke up. There was a huge I.V. line stitched into the artery on my neck.

My sister came to the hospital to visit me. When she arrived she had little holes, and bruising on her arms, as though SHE had been the one getting poked with needles. She told me that these markings had come out the blue. She said she could only remember feeling an unexplainable pain.

You should probably post this in the paranormal activity thread, it sounds so weird.
