@ Shodokan: I've sent a message to my instructor (not a sensei yet, he's only 1st Dan) and hopefully I'll be able to tell you.
@ hendo24: Here's a link to a website that lists most of the clubs in the UK. It has a search function as well, to help you find one. Have fun.
Well what was his answer? You should have at least went to class by now.

I've done Kendo a few times with the school club, but they're way too hardcore for me O_o; 5-7 hour practices, screaming until their lungs give out attacking tires, sandbags and each other... They win all kinds of awards, flags, and run in ridiculous heat on sports day in their full hakama/robes/protectors. They've been the prefectural champions an obscene 32 times since 1922 (including the last two years). They are crazy little monsters and I'm afraid they'll hand me my ass if I get too friendly with them...

So now I just get drunk with the kendo coach and go whenever he guilts me into it.

    Re: Martial Arts and You

i am not big on martial arts because
i am a bit to big size wise and I'm slow as well
in speed , so i have been reading somethings
on buddhist monks they training is slow yet powerful
speed isn't the key to any of there moves ,and i have
been trying s method i bet no one has really never heard of
unless your a monk where you walk and leave no foot prints the sand etc.

anyway martial arts really is a spiritual and not about
physicality or how quickly you can catch a fly qith chop
sticks or that other tv junk they show, being one with your
chi is what itzs about i think and not the cartoon chi crap either.
I'll be the one to protect you from your enemies and all your demons
I'll be the one to protect you from a will to survive and a voice of reason
I'll be the one to protect you from your enemies and your choices son
They're one in the same, I must isolate you...
Isolate and save you from yourself

You wouldn't believe me when I say that he hasn't told me what style. The foolish little man that he is. Though he did nearly paste me last night, which was nice. This is the website / forum that I signed onto through my class, so it may be in there. Sorry I cannot be any further help..

    Re: Martial Arts and You

hmm...martial arts are quite popular...here most malay are trained with the old self defence martial art called "silat".. very old... :/ but...i am not interested with martial arts...

To me silat is a bit weird...it's more like dancing softly while preying ur prey and watch their moves carefully.. :/ not good for war...but effective for one on one combat.. they use a weapon called "keris" ^^ weird weapon that looks like a short dagger but well a bit weird in shape... @.@ it's snake like..

    Re: Martial Arts and You

    I love martial arts!
I took Jeet Kune Do for about 8 years - Wow it was challenging!
Jeet Kune Do (meaning, 'way of the intercepting fist') is the martial art developed by Bruce Lee... It's pretty tough, but it kept me on my toes.
The philosophy of the art helped me not only physically, but emotionally as well. I really love it a lot! I stopped taking lessons recently, because I moved out of state. And due to an injury from a car accident, I've been unable to train daily like I used to. ((So I am pretty rusty))
I would love to learn either Akido or Tai Kwon Do... Or maybe even both! ^_^

Iv been watching Human Weapon recently and some of the fighting styles looks like something i would like to dedicate to but the problem is studying them cause they're half way across the world
