Don't forget to mention that they never even managed to win a single gold at prevous games situated in Canada. From zero to fourteen.

It's odd they're using the total medals rankings (which puts the USA on top) and not the system we use where gold medals are valued higher than silver etc.
Out here they're firmly in first place.


I'm most impressed by Norway though. 9 Gold 8 Silver and 6 Bronze for a country of 4.8 million.

Hater. You are quite correct though. Canada may have lead the count for gold which is a very impressive victory, but fell short of being the actual medal count leaders. America and the world needs to take note. Canada seems to either be acquiring the best of everything or developing it.

It was intended as a compliment without even the slightest trace of sarcasm.

Another interesting point is that about 80% of Canada's medals were won by women. While the Canadian Olympian team nearly had a 60%/40% ratio of men to women.

Yeah, I thought Canada wasn't going to do well, because in the past they seemed rather weak. This year they really brought it. I think it was a good Olympics for the US and Canada. Canada won the most gold and US had the most medals overall, they said beating the previous record set by Germany in the most medals won in an winter Olympics ever. So yay!

Traditionally, the country with the most gold medals is seen as the leader in the Olympics.

That's why I'm surprised to see the ranking is different in Canada itself.
