    Nightmares

So last night I was having one hell of a bad nightmare. No matter how many times I forced myself awake, the second I was asleep again I'd start right back up where I left off. Now I'm stressed out today. I'm sore from lack of sleep and simply miserable. What's worse is I'm terrified to go to sleep tonight because I'm scared out of my mind of being flung right back into the nightmare from last night.

How is this relavent? Well...I was hoping people could tell me some tricks to dealing with both my nightmare and my fear of going to sleep. What are the things you do when you can't get a good night sleep?

Think of happy things before you go to bed ^_^
Well what I try to do is think of things that I like..such as..umm..
Final Fantasy for example, then maybe you'll end up dreaming about that.
Some times listening to music before you go to bed helps
    Or even reading a book.
Anything that gets you relaxed and your mind of things.
I guess some of that might help for nightmares, but you most times you don't really have a choice. right?

Okay so I'm going to try putting on some soft music and reading a book. I'd play video games but that'd probably be stimulating right? I hope my husband doesn't start grumbling about the noise. *giggles*

I get scared easily too - the littlest things give me nightmares. >__>
When I wake up from a nightmare my first instinct is to go back to sleep and cover myself with lots and lots of pillows so as to block anything out - all sights and sounds and smells, whatever. I'm terrified of the dark and I have a tendency to see and hear things - people tell me it's just my imagination changing normal sounds like dogs barking and bugs buzzing and the fan spinning into eerie sounds, and shadows of various objects caused by light shining thru the window into creepy shapes. That's prolly true, but I haven't been able to stifle my imagination. <__< It just runs wild, especially when I'm scared.

If I still can't sleep I just switch on all the lights, grab a book and read myself to sleep, or pray and pray and pray until I'm too tired to pray anymore. But this is rarely the case since I'm just too damn scared of the dark to get up and walk to the switches on the wall. +__+

Geez Blue, I've had that happen to me. It doesn't happen all the time but even just reaching my arm out past the edge of the bed to flick on a light was too overwealming. The room DOES somehow seem scarier, especially after a nightmare. Maybe you should try sleeping with the lights on. I did that for a while when things got bad. *HUGS*
