Thread: Online Dating?

I still have the problem of meeting people in the real world that will give me any form of respect without the use of violence. There is just something they perceive about me that sets everyone off, but does not involve my character. The only successful friendships I've had have been online.

Online dating is good AND bad.

Let's start with the half-full glass ^_^~
There is no limit to your feelings. There are different types of emotions every time. If you fell in love that is good! ^_^ I mean if there is such thing as love at first sight, then it's creepier than online dating in my opinion, that is.
Boy - *sees the girl*
Girl - *sees the boy*
*they fall in love*.... okay.
I do not comprehend that. Seriously!
But as I said there is nothing wrong with falling in love. It's a main part of life too ^_^ without love life is empty. And if people find it wrong, they have a reason. But why bother to cut down the way people show their affection towards the other? I mean it's common in Forums and MSN and other chat sites. As long as they are honest, committed, really in love with each other it is okay.


Now to the half empty glass~
There are many crimes being committed on the Internet because of this. Some people take it to pornography without knowing it. Like on Gaia the girls write the boy[s]' name on their chest. It's freaky. And people lie about their age, too. Like you'll find fourth grade girls acting like sluts, or guys being overly aged and pretending to be 15, and take advantage of it.
Now, you'll see people getting addicted to cybering and in some cases it gets them into serious trouble. It might make them think having sex is good. And so on. And also if a guy/girl breaks up with you and comes with you again, and keeps on doing the same actions again and again like using you, creating dramas, dumping you, hurting your feelings... get over it. No point staying with a whore, dim-witted, unwise, brainless, stupid and obtuse people. Move on and try to find someone else or take a rest. And no I don't mince my words. If they say "Oh... *cries* booo hooo.. my 129th bf/gf is duping me I'm gonna die" Let them die. After all they played with you on the first place.

Relationships are a big mess these days..........Online, offline. Drama Drama Drama.......................Online dating is whack. I'd rather meet someone in person, so I can at least check 'er out top to bottom..............and face to face chatting is nice......

online dating? to me, thats something desperate to do. is it that imposible for u to actually go out with someone in person. @.@ not to be rude but its better to like someone when u see them face to face.
but friends online, yes. dating online, no-no.

I don't see how finding somebody online is "desperate". Back in the day when people were a lot more conservative, they'd say the samething about people that go to bars.

Times change....
We're just a lot more technologically advanced. And about people lying about their age...People lie about their age regardless where you meet them. It's just a lot more easier to commit to crimes online because you're hiding behind the screen and your personality justifies how you act in person.

Like I said.. People are people no matter where you meet them. I met a lot of friends online and some have actually become PERSONAL/REAL friendships. Some of my friends that I've met online..have...STAYED online. As in, I've never met them before - but that's fine. There's nothing wrong with a digital penpal.

But everyone has their own opinion. I just hope that the people that don't agree with online dating or meeting people online, respect the people that have done it.

what about myspace? I'm pretty sure people browse through other's myspaces wishing they could meet them.....right?

well if you have a long term thing u might need to do online dating
but i dont find a porb with it if he/she is who can be trused and loved you back ( thats if u met them on the net) but i dont have a prob with it

I do agree with you again.

Times are changing and really people are getting more technical. People who are dating only are just showing how they feel in another way. People may see it as desperate. But really i don't think it is. I mean we can't stop having feelings for someone no matter where me meet them. So why should we deny those feelings if we meet someone whom we really trust and are close to online?

The internet is being used where ever you go and you can't really escape it. Its just another form of communication. And it helps us to learn about other cultures etc and chat with people with similar interests. Its like going to a club after school and speaking to those about hobbies etc. Its just with the internet, it allows more people to speak and converse.
