    Re: patriotism

    Saddam was a different story
and they dont hate him as much as they hate us
in that world everybody hates everyone else.
Saddam wasnt part of the whole terrorist thing
hes just a crazed tirant that controlled his country with a little too much power

    Re: patriotism

You are aware that people who were thankful for you invading their country now regret it?

you can never have 100 % approval of anything you do. but theres more people thankful of us being here than not. and those are the ones that are not in control and suffered from saddams rule and all the violence that was allowed

Way to ruin a topic. If you want to have your petty political squabbles, there's a PM system for that. Or go to Debate and Discuss.

As for Patriotism - Meh. I'm too lazy. I stopped standing for the pledge in my sophomore year of high school out of laziness. I can't join the military. Overweight and flat-footed. I'll just sit back and take advantage of the benefits of being an American.

    Re: patriotism

I am not the least bit patriotic! X(
Okay, okay. I'm one of those people. I don't like my country very much, and I could write a whole novel slandering it and its people, but when people from elsewhere start insulting my country I get really PO'ed. I guess it's the "the only person who gets to insult MY country is ME" kind of mentality. That's about the only time I actually stand up for my country. There are plenty of pros to living in Malaysia, but I'd much rather be elsewhere - I canNOT stand the climate, I canNOT stand how uncivilised the shoppers are, and I canNOT stand the lack of understanding when it comes to fields like film, music and the arts.

Kinda superficial, I know, but what the heck.

    Re: patriotism

Umm, I guess I do feel patriotic, but not in relation to war. :/ My country didn't get involved in the whole middle east crap which I think was pretty wise. I wouldn't join the forces in any way even if it were though. I don't see killing as something very honorable in any circumstance, and ideally there would be no war. But alas.. :P
