Re: The person behind the avatar.
for me it is ok to see the one i am talking to becasue when i talk to anyone on the internet and i start know the personalty of the person i am talking to i can imagen that person .. i mean i can now how that person look like ( i can know how he /she look like ) i don't know why but this is the way i build the image in my mind :D: .. so i don't mind to see the one i am talking to becasue i already know how he/she look like ... =^_^=
Re: The person behind the avatar.
I have met a few people that I knew from online.
But I have talked to them for at least one year and I know everything about them as much as they know about me.
I know better than to meet up some strangers.
it was a bit awkward when we met because we both had a different perspective of each other and we were both wrong...LOL......but now me and her are best friends and that brought us even closer.
Re: The person behind the avatar.

Re: The person behind the avatar.
Interesting question...
I do get blown away after seeing a person's real face, when all this while, I'm used to visualizing him/her according to his/her avatar.
Then again, I try not to let the reality image ruin my perspective toward them.
I have yet to meet any online friends in person but ---the most I ever did was communicating with them via voice chat and web cam.
To me.. Online friends should remain online friends. I just don't trust anybody. (Laughs)
Baa...
Re: The person behind the avatar.
I don't want to believe that the person dosen't look like thier Avatar. In my eyes aceman67 is Bender!
Re: The person behind the avatar.
To be honest, I like knowing who i'm talking to. See if you don't know what the person looks like you can get this image in your head of how you think this person should look like and when you actually see the person, you can be let down. That's why I prefer to know what the person looks like who I'm talking to..
Re: The person behind the avatar.
it makes no difference for me what a person looked like since the personality and characteristic behind the avatar was who i am friends with so no it doesn't change a thing for me.
Re: The person behind the avatar.
I like personality too...seing the person behind the avatar doesn't change my perception but adds a whole new dimension to it.. I know what they look like for id purposes but to me the most important is having a sense of humor.
