well....wen u're dating a girl, body langauge is still important i guess but i guess the girl gets it more abt body language than the guys since we all like too look at her assets n dnt u guys say tht u dont....i guess women still understand body langauge more than us

Kat is a commonlly known well i think that women are far better at reading body language mostly because we tend to go with feelings more and are able to understand when someone is portraying a particular feeling.

Just because people communicate on the interweb with the written word and not in face-to-face conversation, does not mean that the "body language" is absent. People who know how to write can communicate their emotions through their words. The rest of you resort to bombarding folks with emoticons and the overuse of ellipses (...) making you as transparent as a plane of glass.

True - the existence of the Internet doesn't reduce the significance of body language to nothing. Face-to-face encounters are much more important to me because online, I can't tell what a person's really thinking! If the other party's lying, there's no way of telling. Even on the phone - tone of voice, devoid of visible body language isn't particularly effective.

I don't think any gender is "better" at deciphering body language. I can be pretty thick sometimes, and so can some guys. That said, you'd need to do really extensive research to come up with some kind of conclusion as to which gender understands body language better.

And yes, you can *sort of* tell when someone's in a bad mood from the way he/she talks, or how long he/she takes to reply, or the brevity/length of his/her replies. When I'm PO'ed, my answers are usually short and brusque. And I take AGES to reply.

Physical language is slightly more easier 2 decipher than verbal coz u can c wat the mood of the person is n with verbal there r times when the person can disguise the actual truth so u dunno wat they really thinking unless u can read them lyk a book.

i think u can still tell from the way they chat on the internet n can tell if there's something wrong. Coz like if u've known them for awhile then the difference is clear as water. So even if body lango is out of the picture, words still count tho

it's scienticicly proven men and women dont connect on the same verbal level cuz women are more complex and have more meaning in the words then a man. to me men seem to understand body language alot better. they arent really listening to us when we talk but they seem to understand our curves a lot better. and i dont agree with the internet having to do with miscommunication between men and women. can you broaden on that?

It's a proven fact women understand body language and tone better than men. I was watching that on 20/20 one night. Women also have more meanings to words than men like Princess Lady said. On the other hand, men are superior when using distances to get around. Women use land markers and visual stimulants to know where they are, men use distance and directions to know where they are. In fact, in infants females react more strongly to the tone of voice someone uses and will watch their faces more while newborn males are easier to startle via environmental stimulus like say...someone's footsteps approaching them. Anyway, I find this sort of thing interesting so I thought I'd share.
